Explore Champoeg in the evening. Programs include:
- Stars over Champoeg: Experience how knowledge of the night sky connects you to place, people and time and learn how to identify major summer constellations.
- Bats: Discover the fascinating world of these mammals and watch as Little Brown Bats come out to feed for the evening.
- Twilight Nature Walk: Use your senses to experience the forest during this 1 mile night walk. Wear close toed shoes and bring one flashlight per family.
- Movie Nights: Starts with an topic introduction and then a movie on topics such as beavers, bears, wolves, raptors, Champoeg history or steamboats.
Start times depend on sunset time and darkness. Programs start at 9 pm in July and change to 8:30 and 8 pm through August. See the weekly flyer or call the Visitor Center for topics and times of the programs for the week. 503-678-1251 ext. 221 9 am – 5 pm.
