Earth Day Scotch Broom Pull

Join the Oregon Dunes Restoration Collaborative and rangers from Honeyman State Park for a work party to cut and pull Scotch broom from the Day Use Area at Honeyman.  Please note that parts of this site are on steep terrain.  Climbing a high dune is required to reach the work site.  There will be a secondary option to cut Scotch broom from more level ground along the shores of the lake.  We will work from 9:00 AM to Noon.

BRING: shovels or spades, loppers, tree saws, gloves, rain gear (just in case), a sweatshirt or jacket, and drinking water. Sturdy closed-toe shoes, long pants, and a hat are recommended.

DIRECTIONS: Highway 101 SOUTH from Florence.  Turn RIGHT at Jessie M. Honeyman State Park.  Bear LEFT at junction for Dunes Day Use Area.  Turn RIGHT and park at Dunes Day Use Area.  Volunteers will not be required to pay the park’s day use fee
