Ongoing: Campfires and open flames prohibited in all state park properties including campgrounds, day-use areas, and all areas of the Ocean Shore and beaches managed by OPRD. The fire ban applies to wood, charcoal, and other flame sources that cannot be turned off with a valve. Liquid fuel stoves or cooking devices that can be turned off with a valve are permitted, but cannot be left unattended. We currently do not allow kiddie pools in the Park due to the following: the need to conserve water as ordered by Governor Kate Brown’s Executive Order 15-09 and due to resource protection as the camp sites get pretty torn up with these pools. There is also a potential liability issue if pool left unattended

The RV dump station at Champoeg State Heritage Area is closed until further notice. This is due to the failure of the septic drain field. While there are plans to replace this drain field, the soonest that will occur will be the Fall of 2018. We are sorry for any inconvenience this causes. The nearest 24 hour RV Dump Stations are at the following locations: The City of Newberg Waste Water Treatment Plant, East Gate, 2301 Wynooski Road, Newberg, OR 97132 Debit/credit card kiosk: $5/dump; or Flying J Travel Center, 12334 Ehlen Rd NE, Aurora, OR 97002 (503) 678-1262 $10/dump.
