07/12/2018 to 10/31/2018
Effective July 12th, the seasonal closure of the starvation lane takeout is in effect due to low water conditions. The gate at the end of Starvation Lane is closed, no river access available to vehicles/trailers. This closure will remain in effect until late fall when water levels raise.

Effective June 1st: all fires are banned within Cottonwood Canyon State Park, including surrounding lands managed by the Bureau of Land Management. What we allow: • Charcoal Briquettes used inside of designated fire rings, started using lighter fluid • Propane grills • Propane fire rings placed inside of existing campsite fire rings What is banned: • Smoking outside of campsites • Any open flame: tiki torches, candles, torches etc. • Lump charcoal • All campfires • Any item/activity which may produce spark, fire, or embers For additional questions, please contact park staff.

Construction Advisory

01/01/2018 to 09/28/2018
Daytime construction of cabins, experience center and a shower facility near the Lone Tree Campground and Day Use Area may cause noise. Campground potable water may be unavailable for short periods. Construction is expected to be completed by September 15th. Reservation information will be announced when it becomes available in September.
