Visitor Services Host

Jessie M. Honeyman Memorial State Park

Needed From July 1, 2020
Needed To July 31, 2020

Jessie M. Honeyman Memorial State Park is in need of a host couple to operate our summer boat rentals for the month of June through July.  This is a fast paced customer service position involving having visitors sign waivers, checking boat rentals and paddles out and in, fitting visitors with life jackets and assisting them in and out of boats and with push off/docking,  cleaning boats as needed, moving boats, unlocking them in the morning and locking them up in the evens. Our boat rental fleet includes single and tandem kayaks (sit in and sit-on-top), peddle boats and stand-up paddleboards. Hosts should be able to maneuver large/heavy boats (though no heavy lifting is required), stand, bend for a 4 hour shift. Customer service experience is a plus and welcoming, inclusive and positive attitudes are required!

Honeyman State Park is the second largest OPRD campground (by number of campsites) and is located just south of Florence on the central Oregon coast surrounded by dunes, coastal forests, the Siuslaw River and many beautiful fresh water lakes; all full of wonderful recreational opportunities. Honeyman is also within 15 minutes of 2 large chain grocery stores and many nice restaurants in Old Town Florence on Bay Street. CDMA cell phone networks generally have good coverage at Honeyman, GSM coverage is not good. We do not guarantee access to any satellite television services and do not have wifi, but we do guarantee much cooler weather here during the summer!

Please contact the host coordinator, if you have any questions about the position; we look forward to hearing from you!
