Did you know Prineville Reservoir (Powderhouse Cove) has a host position open? Do you enjoy talking with the public, meeting new friends, giving back? Do you want to camp privately on the crooked river renowned for its scenic beauty and fishing? Prineville might just be for you.   

Roles and Responsibilities:    

Provide excellent customer service to visitors by welcoming, engaging, answering questions and providing information about Roberts Bay, Powderhouse Cove and Bear Creek Day use area. Responsibilities include cleaning primitive campsites, cleaning/restocking CXT restrooms, litter picking and attending monthly safety meetings as well as advisement of park rules and special projects and work as agreed upon with staff.  Responsibilities also include the use of tools and vehicles to accomplish daily and special tasks in accordance with safe practices. Work hours fluctuate as needs change but in general, work will be limited to 4-5 hours per person/day between hours of 8am and 8pm Thursday-Monday. After hours emergencies may arise in which communication may need to be made or assistance provided in a safe manner.

Qualifications/Desired Attributes

Requirements include a valid driver’s license and background check. Ability to carry up to 20lbs for short distances and walk up and down stairs and hills. Hosting experience preferred but not required, providing good customer service and a positive welcoming environment with a willingness to work unsupervised.
