Day-Use Host

Luckiamute State Natural Area

Needed From November 1, 2019
Needed To December 31, 2019

This is a Day Use Host position tasked with taking care of 2 trailheads and a paddlers access at the Luckiamute State Natural Area.  This park consists of over 3 miles of trails that traverses through one of the last intact large riparian forests along the Willamette River and a canoe or kayak access to the Luckiamute River.  Typical recreational activities consist of wildlife and bird viewing, dog walking, fishing, and hunting.  The host site is situated at the South Property where you will also be taking care of a 1/2 mile of trail that ends at the West Pond, where our resident Western Pond Turtles are frequently viewed by visitors.  There is an electrical, water, and sewer hookup.  We do provide onsite laundry.  Albany, Corvallis, and Independence are a short drive away for groceries and entertainment.  Wifi is available and we do have good cell service.

Job duties consist of opening and closing park gates, weed trimming and mowing, blowing paths, litter pickup, checking trash and restrooms, maintaining 1/2 mile hiking trail, advising of park rules, and providing quality customer service to park visitors.  A shared state vehicle will be available to complete the required duties.
