Maintenance Host

Harris Beach State Park

Needed From December 1, 2019
Needed To December 31, 2019

HARRIS CAMP SITE CLEANER:  Receive list of outgoing campers, clean those sites by picking up litter and dog poop, clean out the fire pit, rake around the fire pit and under picnic table, minor trimming if blackberries or small branches are hanging in site, blow off parking pads.  Bend, stoop, lift up to 30 lbs., operate gas-powered equipment, use a shovel.  Drives state passenger truck and/or utility vehicles.   In winter, if you are the #2 site cleaner, on Fri.-Sun.  you will be assigned other chores such as cleaning up storm debris, Webstering off buildings and kiosks, stocking paper products in restroom pipe chases, general maintenance … because there are not enough camp sites to have two sets of hosts doing the site cleaning.  Site cleaners must also be flexible – if one of the main camp/yurt hosts had an emergency, or got sick and had to leave, we would need to move a site cleaner into the vacant position because it is more key to park operations.  Must be public-service oriented and communicate well with park staff, visitors, and other hosts while being a visible representative of Oregon Parks & Recreation – acting professional at all times.  Inform Rangers if any task is not within your capabilities.
