Interpretive Host

Port Orford Heads State Park

Needed From July 1, 2019
Needed To July 31, 2019

Provide information and an introduction to a 1932 former United States Coast Guard motor lifeboat station.

Visitors to this location and museum will experience a sense of life as they move around the former barracks. During their self-guided tour they will discover what technologies the “Coasties” took out to sea as they braved the waters during rescues.

While your person presence at the museum will help visitors understand how the men who severed here truly lived up to the Coast Guard motto; You have to go out, but you do not have to come back, we do not expect you to recreate what life was like to this level of detail.

Interpretive Park Ranger will provide all information pertaining to the introduction of a self-guided tour, along with detailed training and guidance for the self-guided tours and gift shop sales.

Enjoy the pristine beauty of the Oregon’s rocky coast and experience life from this beautiful station!

A detailed Position Description of your duties, campsite and position schedule is available to those interested in this opportunity.
