Description

Come and learn about how the more than 400 volcanoes, plate tectonics, Juan de Fuca Plate subducting and glaciers shaped Central Oregon. Participants will learn the difference between cinder cones, composite volcanoes, shield volcanoes and lava domes. There will also be samples of basalt, obsidian, welded tuff, pumice and thunder eggs to examine. Grades 3-Adult. Use as a JR. Ranger program.
