One of the first units to take command of the new Fort Stevens, in the 1860's, was the 2nd U.S. Artillery, Battery C. There will be camp life demonstrations, drills, and actual cannon fire throughout each day. Displays of various cannon munitions are on hand with dedicated history buffs sharing how these were used in battle.
