First Day Hike on the Beach

Location of the Event: Ocean beach in Lincoln City. Time of the Event: 11:00 a.m. Where to Meet: D River Wayside. Degree of Difficulty: Easy (depending on sand conditions). Minimum Age for Kids: 8. Restrictions: Dogs (on leash) allowed; strollers discouraged as hike will be on the beach. Length of the Trail: Just under one mile, approximately two hours. Things to Bring: Dress for the weather; hike will take place rain or shine barring large storm surge. Drinking water and snacks are also encouraged, but not provided. Contact Phone Number: 541-994-7341. Additional Information: Hike will be south from D River to Olivia Beach on the ocean shore. Things to see and learn about include invasive species containment, treasure hunting, opportunities for general birding and talks about the ocean shore recreation area. We will also provide bags for those who want to help keep our beaches clean by picking up debris. Please bring gloves if you plan to participate. Lincoln City’s Finders Keepers event is also taking place so there is opportunity to find a glass float or other glass art on the beach.
