Because Earth's moon will be in a perfect position for viewing on Saturday, July 25, the Oregon Museum of Science and Industry, Rose City Astronomers has organized this Star Party at Stub Stewart State Park starting at 9:00 p.m. From beginners to experts of all ages, here's your opportunity to view the moon, stars and other celestial objects up close and personal through telescopes. Viewing highlights includes Saturn, the moon, several clusters, and more! The angle of the sun will cause deep shadows to fall on the moon's surface, making its highlands and craters more easily visible. On the scheduled day of each OMSI Star Party, it is suggested that interested visitors check the OMSI Star Parties web site http://www.omsi.edu/starparties for possible weather-related cancellations. Day Use parking fee is $5 per vehicle, annual passes accepted, too.
