California sea lions infected with Leptospirosis are appearing on Oregon beaches , the Oregon Marine Mammal Stranding Network reports. The contagious bacterial infection, and many others, are transmittable to humans and dogs. Please stay away from stranded marine mammals. It is a violation of federal and state laws to harass, disturb, touch or feed marine mammals. Report violations to Oregon State Police at 800-452-7888. This park was one of the first parcels donated as park land to the Oregon Highway Commission in 1922. One of the few rest stops along Highway 30, you'll find a restroom, monument, and a wondrous Douglas fir forest overlooking the Columbia River.
