Store/Visitor Center Host

L.L. Stub Stewart State Park

Needed From November 1, 2016
Needed To December 31, 2016

Park host volunteers are a cornerstone of Oregon State Parks. Park rangers rely on these dedicated volunteers to perform a number of crucial duties in order to maintain the high level of service that makes these parks great. An interpretive center host provides a number of volunteer duties as our meet/greet presence at the Stub Stewart Welcome Center. This is sure to include answering visitor questions, providing educational programming, maintaining interpretive facilities, and running a cash register. Have a skill-set that is unique and could provide the park with added benefits? We always welcome volunteers that can help on special projects to improve park properties. If you are a host team of two, one person can be in the interpretive center while the other provides maintenance of trails or other facilities. Being an interpretive center host lends the volunteer to have all the experiences of camping in Oregon State Parks with the added benefits of giving back through service. All the while being only 35 minutes NW of Portland; you’re not far from a fun and vibrant city. Campsites provided have 20/30/50 amp hook-ups, water/sewer, and access to internet connection. A typical weekly schedule includes 20-30 hours of volunteer service. Talk to park staff about the specific weekly schedule required and how many months are available to join our team.
