Campground Host

Cascadia State Park

Needed From July 1, 2017
Needed To August 31, 2017

Beautiful park and campground nestled in the foothills of the Cascades along the Santiam River (about 15 miles east of Sweet Home on Hwy 20).  Small campground with 24 primitive sites, hiking trails to Soda Falls and along the Santiam River, day use areas, fishing, and swimming among other recreational activities.

Hosts must be willing to stay both July and August.  (August 21st is the Total Solar Eclipse and Cascadia is in the path of totality).

Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Greet campers and answer questions relating to fees and/or rules.  If enforcement action is needed, contact park staff.
  • Answer phone calls when available and park staff are not in the park.
  • Sell firewood to campers.  Required to maintain a cash fund for firewood sales of $25.00

                   - Deposit firewood $ into Iron Ranger each day.

  • Clean fire pits and campsites when vacated - please see fire pit cleaning and debris disposal procedures.
  • Litter pick up, restocking restroom supplies and sweeping floors (Rangers do the deep-cleaning).
  • Light grounds keeping, including mowing.
  • Assist with interpretive programs as needed.
  • Assist Park Staff as needed on projects.
  • Report emergencies or other park problems to park staff or local law enforcement officers.
  • Carry radio when on duty to communicate with park staff.  (cell phone service is intermittent).

*Note*  Hosts sites are 45' 50/30 amp full hook up - no pull through.
