Collier Memorial State Park is looking for volunteers skilled in the operations of heavy machinery and mechanized tools used in logging to share and demonstrate for the public at the 22nd annual Living History Day.  This event is an opportunity for visitors to see and experience what life was like for pioneers and loggers in Oregon's early years through demonstrations of logging equipment and techniques and pioneer trades. 

Individuals with knowledge and operation experience of Holt or Catapillar Tractors, early logging Trucks, Railroad Logging, dragsaws, chainsaws, etc; bring out a piece of logging equipment of your own or come assist in the operations of our machinery. If you have a skill, piece of equipment, photo displays/literature not listed but you think might apply and would you would like to bring out to the event, give us a call. Volunteers working with or operating the equipment will be asked to dress in clothing reflecting the early 20th century time period.   All equipment operators are subject to safety guidelines and practices.

This year's event will be held June 17th, 2017 from 10:00 AM till 3:00 PM with early set-up starting at 7:00AM and volunteer potluck hosted by the park at 4:00PM after tear down.
