Living History Day- General Activities

Collier Memorial State Park

Needed From June 17, 2017
Needed To June 17, 2017

Collier Memorial State Park is looking for volunteers to assist with the Living History Day event.  This event is an opportunity for visitors to see and experience what life was like for pioneers and loggers in Oregon's early years through demonstrations of logging equipment and techniques and pioneer trades.

You don't need a lot of experience in logging to particpate as a volunteer at the Logging Museum's biggest annual event; we have several support positions where help is needed including:

  • EmCee and sound equipment operator introducing singers and preformers as well as making announcements.
  • Staffing the information station, helping with sign-up, greeting visitors, and providing information or directions around the museum as needed.
  • Little Logger's Corner, Living History Day's newest area, needs assisance with the youth activities.
  • Set-up and tear down assistance.

This year's event will be held June 17th, 2017 from 10:00 AM till 3:00 PM with early set-up starting at 7:00AM and a volunteer potluck hosted by the park at 4:00PM after tear down. Volunteers can sign up for a couple of hours or the whole day.  Contact us for more information at 541-783-2471 ext 23.
