Nehalem Bay State Park

Duties:   The prioritization of the following list of duties will vary according to the time of year and the number of staff and hosts available.    ·         Be a visible representative of the park with an understanding of park rules and regulations.  Hosts are not responsible for enforcing  rules, only providing information.

·         Greet visitors- be available as a resource to answer questions and receive comments when park staff are not available.

·         Clean and maintain yurts- clean Meeting Hall in off-season.

o   Dust, sweep, disinfect surfaces, empty garbage, clean under furniture, mop, pick up litter in site, clean fire pit. 

·         Pick up litter, debris and clean out fire-pits, as needed.

·         Sell firewood, ice and yurts from Wood Shed.

·         Keep horse kiosk clean and stocked with brochures.

·         Check restrooms morning, afternoon and evening-stock paper, sweep floor, check garbage, wipe surfaces if necessary, and report any cleanup issues to park staff.

·         Monitor Trash and Recycle Station- assist staff in keeping area tidy and change bags when full.

·         Report emergencies and other problems to staff.

·         Promote interpretive campground programs and events such as Junior Ranger, Evening Programs, Shakespeare in the Park and airport events.

·         Maintain golf cart-drive in direction of traffic flow, only volunteers allowed in carts (no pets, non-volunteer family members or public allowed.)

·         Perform minor maintenance and repairs as directed by staff and management.  May include painting, metal work, wood work, plumbing, repairing doors and hinges and other similar tasks, if requested. 

Assist with other projects as determined by park staff.
