Maintenance Host

Smith Rock State Park

Needed From June 1, 2021
Needed To June 30, 2021

If you've never been to Smith Rock State Park, let me tell you, it's a real gem! High rock cliffs follow the Crooked river as it winds through the canyon. You'll see some of the most magnificent sunrises and sunsets you've ever seen and meet people from all over the world. Smith Rock is one of the most unique parks within the agency and is internationally famous for it's hiking, biking and rockclimbing. We're located outside Terrebonne Oregon, just a short drive from Bend where you can also enjoy hundreds of other outstanding outdoor recreation opportunities, wonderful food and craft beers and wines, shops, music venues and just about anything your heart desires.

Smith Rock has a small staff for the amount of visitation we get every year and the rangers need help with maintaince tasks. This position is primarily aimed at those with skills in construction, plumbing, irrigation, mowing, equipment maintainance and repair, those who are comfortable operating power and hand tools, and those who would be willing to help us repair all the big and little things within our park.

We are also looking for someone who can help the Bivouac (campground) and Day Use hosts with their duties when it gets really busy. These duties may include emptying trash, checking the restrooms, showers, composting toilets and litter picking. It may also include assisting with advising customers who have failed to purchases a day use pass or leash their dogs as well as possibly running the Welcome center.

We will provide you with a full hookup RV site as well. If you're interested in giving us some much needed help and giving this new host position a try, please give me a call, I am happy to answer any questions you might have.
